RECOGNITION FOR THE CANNELLE BAKERY PIES PACKAGING

The packaging of Cannelle Bakery pies has received recognition from the expert judges of the Latvian Packaging Association’s national competition Best Packaging in Latvia 2017, which ended on 9 November. This year, there were 18 competitors with 36 types of packaging and packaging lines. The competition had several stages in which packaging was evaluated both by consumers and professional judges. The applications submitted in September and October were evaluated by the visitors of the Riga Food and Design Isle international fairs, as well as industry experts, competition sponsors and internet users. The judges had certain criteria: construction, form, design, functionality, overall impression, etc. Competition sponsors also provided their input: Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development, International Exhibition Company BT 1, Latvijas Zaļais punkts, GS1 Latvia, Latvian Printers’ Association, Latvian Designers’ Society, Latvian Packaging Certification Centre, the Technology and Knowledge Transfer Office of the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, Riga State Technical School, and Homo Ecos.
