PRODUCTION OF SKLANDRAUŠI PROTECTED WITHIN THE EU

On 21 October, the European Commission carried out a remote audit via a video conference, wherein Cannelle Bakery presented how it produces sklandrauši in compliance with EC regulation and how the FVS ensures monitoring. We would like to remind that sklandrauši, the renowned delicacy from Kurzeme, has been included in the European Commission’s register of products with Traditional Speciality Guaranteed for seven years. It aims to protect the traditional way of production within the European Union. The registered product names are protected against any misuse or falsification. We at Cannelle Bakery are proud to be the biggest producers of sklandrauši, not only in Latvia, but also in the world, so we keep the bar high when it comes to the traditional recipe, production process and quality, which we have successfully demonstrated at the EC audit.
